Luggage transfer on the Camino Inglés: what's it and how does it work

What is luggage transfer?
It’s a service available on many Camino routes to Santiago, especially along the last 100 km or so, where a company transports your backpack or suitcase from one accommodation to the next, while you walk the stage carrying only what you need.
That’s it.
Really.
The idea is simple: to make the Camino more comfortable, especially if:
you’re carrying too much weight
you have some physical discomfort
or you simply prefer to walk light
Each company works in its own way and has its own conditions. Here we explain how we do it at MochiGo, because we believe some details really do make a difference.
How does luggage transfer with MochiGo work?
We like to say it works in 4 steps.
Booking
First, get in touch with us through whatever suits you best:
WhatsApp, phone call, email, Facebook or Instagram.
(Yes, real people reply. No bots. And no, we don’t use smoke signals yet.)
We’ll ask you for:
Name and surname
Email
Approximate dates
Stages you plan to walk
Number of items to transport
With that information, we’ll send you a no-obligation quote so you can check it calmly.
If it works for you, just tell us how you’d like to pay:
Card
Cash on the first collection day
We’ll send you a booking confirmation with your reservation code, and that’s it. Service booked.
You can make your booking just down here 👇🏼
Preparation
Picture your first day on the Camino.
Early alarm, some excitement (hopefully), and time to get moving.
Before you leave, you just need to:
Attach our MochiGo identification envelope to your luggage with your details on it.
Leave it at the accommodation reception
From 8:00 am onwards, we collect it and transport it to your next stop, while you start walking light.
If you chose to pay in cash, this is the day the exact amount should be inside the bag. Simple.
Collect and transport
While you walk, we take care of the rest.
We collect your luggage from the accommodation and transport it to the next place indicated in your booking.
There’s no need to confirm every morning or send reminders if nothing changes: we follow the agreed plan.
Your luggage travels clearly identified and, when you arrive at your next accommodation, it will already be there waiting for you or arrive within the usual delivery time.
If something unexpected comes up during the Camino (a change of stage, an extra rest day, an injury, bad weather…), we talk it through and look for the best possible solution. The Camino is unpredictable, and we know that.
Arrival
You reach the end of the stage, take off your boots and the first thing you see is your backpack.
No worrying about whether it will arrive or not.
You unpack, take a shower, rest and continue with your Camino.
The next day, the process repeats just as easily: prepare your luggage, leave it at reception and walk light again.
In short
Luggage transport is meant to remove worries, not add new ones.
That’s why we try to make everything clear from the start, with no unnecessary steps or complications.
That’s how we do it at MochiGo.
If after reading this you still have a specific doubt, let us know — that’s where many of the posts on this blog come from.
Buen Camino 💙
